Increasing The Width

In many homes we are able to increase the width of internal doors by cutting a new opening which could house a door up to 39” (1m) wide, although for wheelchair or Rollator access a standard 33” (838mm) door is adequate

There are many advantages to widening doorways

  • Easier to move through the home
  • More independence and less reliance on others
  • Can prevent falls
  • For external doors it can help by accessing the outdoors
